About the Artist

Mainak Biswas was initiated into North Indian classical music at the age of 3 by Sri Manik Koley. He has now been learning Tabla and developing his musical personality under the guidance of Shri Ashim Bhattacharjee of Farukabad Gharana (senior disciple of  Pandit Anindo Chatterjee). He is an empaneled child artist of All India Radio.

His first Tabla solo was at the age of 7 at the residence of Swara Samrat Ustad  Ali Akbar Khan celebrating 72nd Birth Anniversary of Prof. Dhyanesh Khan. He performed Tabla solo at "96th Birthday Celebration Of Swara Samrat Ustad Ali Akbar Khan " in Madina Bhavan, Maihar, "92nd Birthday Tribute To Maa Annapurna Devi", " 98th Birthday Celebration of Ustad Baba Ali Akbar Khan Saheb ", " 80th Birthday Celebration of Ustad Aashish Khan Saheb " at Aashish Khan School  of  World Music, "SARGAM Music Festival" and many more. He has also collaborated in paying tribute to USTAD ALI AKBAR KHAN  , through his one of the most beautiful compositions , " Power of Joy " , along with eminent artists in  such as Alam Khan & Manik Khan (son of Ustad Ali Akbar Khan Saheb) , Maestro Bickram Ghosh & many more.  Mainak has been also featured as a percussionist in the School Anthem of " Patha Bhavan ".  At present , Mainak is chiefly enhancing his accompaning experiences under Shri Shiraz Ali Khan , Dishari Chakroborty & Dwiptanil Bhattacharjee .
